Couples
Shared controls and wearable shapes, plus the connection problems that never make it into the product listing.
Two shapes dominate. Rings that stay in place while your hands are busy, and app-controlled devices that work at a distance. They fail in different ways — rings on fit, connected devices on software — so the questions worth asking before you buy are different for each. Neither is a better product than the other. They are answers to different situations, and buying the wrong one is usually a case of buying the more expensive option.

Bringing it up with a partner
The conversation is usually shorter and less awkward than the version people rehearse in their heads. What makes it go badly is rarely the subject. It is the framing.
How to read a product listing
A listing is written for two audiences at once: the people who will check, and the people who will not. Once you can tell the two halves apart, most of the marketing stops working on you.
